Four envious heads look out of their own window, looking outwards toward a better life where the grass is greener. The mound of worms on top of the swollen base reference the worm as eating enviously inside as in Shakespeare’s line about Romeo: ‘As is the bud bit with an envious worm’. The mound of writhing worms is there to increase the sense internal disturbance at the centre of the sculpture.

Each head has a decal of a nautical flag on their forehead conveying a message of distress. In the context of Envy each nautical symbol implies a dissatisfied condition leading to a sense of Envy.

4 = cross. ‘Stop your intention’

Each head has a snake like support.

네 개의 질투하는 머리가 자신만의 창문 밖으로 내다보며 더 나은 삶, 즉 다른 곳의 풀이 더 푸르게 보이는 삶을 바라보고 있습니다. 부풀어 오른 베이스 위의 벌레 더미는 셰익스피어의 ‘로미오’에서 나오는 “질투하는 벌레에 물린 꽃봉오리처럼”이라는 구절을 참조하여, 질투심이 안에서 갉아먹는 것을 상징합니다. 꿈틀거리는 벌레 더미는 조각의 중심에 내부적인 불안을 더욱 강조하기 위한 장치입니다.

각 머리에는 비상 상황을 나타내는 해상 깃발이 이마에 그려져 있습니다. Envy의 맥락에서 이 해상 기호들은 불만족스러운 상태를 암시하며, 이는 결국 질투심으로 이어집니다.
