“What Sins do we carry?”

Monoflex is presenting the second project, 7 Deadly Sins, showcasing resident artist Jo Fairfax’s Part 2 at Proto Gallery. In this series, Jo Fairfax focuses on the concept of the seven deadly sins, which symbolize moral downfall in Christian doctrine. Each sin is depicted with distinct characteristics, emphasizing the major vices humans are urged to avoid, with each representing specific flaws in human character.

1. Pride: An attitude of overestimating oneself and disregarding others.
2. Envy: The feeling of jealousy and resentment toward other’s success, possessions, or qualities.
3. Wrath: An intense, uncontrollable anger, often leading to vengeful and aggressive behavior.
4. Sloth: The avoidance of duties and responsibilities due to laziness or lack of motivation.
5. Greed: An excessive desire for material possessions and an insatiable urge to acquire more.
6. Gluttony: Overindulgence in food or other forms of consumption, leading to a lack of restraint.
7. Lust: An excessive obsession with sexual pleasure and uncontrollable desire.

Monoflex 두 번째 프로젝트 7 Deadly Sins으로 Proto Gallery 전속 작가 Jo Fairfax Part 2를 개최합니다. Jo Fairfax는 이번 시리즈에서 기독교에서 인간의 도덕적 타락을 상징하는 일곱 가지 주요 죄악의 개념에 초점을 맞춰 각각 죄악의 특징을 잡아 형상화했습니다. 이 죄악들은 인간이 피해야 할 주요 악덕으로 간주되며, 각각이 특정한 인간의 성격적 결함을 표현하고자 했습니다.

1. Pride (교만): 자신을 과대평가하고 다른 사람을 무시하는 태도
2. Envy (질투): 다른 사람의 성공, 재산, 자질 등을 부러워하고 시기하는 마음
3. Wrath (분노): 통제할 수 없는 강한 분노와 복수심, 공격적인 감정
4. Sloth (나태): 게으름과 무기력으로 인해 자신의 의무나 책임을 회피하는 태도
5. Greed (탐욕): 물질적 소유에 대한 과도한 욕망과 끊임없는 소유욕
6. Gluttony (폭식): 과도한 식탐, 무절제한 소비, 음식을 포함한 모든 종류의 과도한 탐닉
7. Lust (색욕): 성적인 쾌락에 대한 과도한 집착과 통제되지 않는 욕망
