“What are your archetypes?”

Monoflex is excited to launch a new project featuring a curated exhibition by British artist Jo Fairfax on the theme of 12 Carl Jung’s Archetypes. Jo Fairfax focuses on the concept of the collective unconscious as proposed by Carl Jung, embodying archetypal characteristics such as the Hero, Magician, Innocent, Lover, Caregiver, Orphan, Rebel, Ruler, Explorer, Creator, Sage, and Jester. Through his 3D sculptures, he invites reflection on the combinations of personal archetypes and shared traits among individuals. Fairfax states, “The principle of shared traits gently suggests our interconnectedness. This is a wonderful moment to contribute to commonality rather than division.”

In the process of creating this series, Fairfax immersed himself in Jung’s archetypes, allowing his unconscious to guide his creative journey. The final results include a careful analysis of his works as experiential objects. The outcome is a diverse collection of white sculptures characterized by delicate lines and curves, subtle color dots, and intricate geometric details. Jo Fairfax는 자신의 시리즈에서 칼 융의 집단 무의식 개념에 초점을 맞추어, 영웅, 마법사, 순수한 자, 연인, 돌보는 자, 고아, 반항자, 통치자, 탐험가, 창조자, 현자, 광대와 같은 원형적 특성을 구현하였습니다. 3D 프린팅을 통해 그는 개인의 원형 조합과 타인과의 공통된 특성에 대한 성찰을 유도합니다. 페어팩스는 “공유된 특성의 원리는 우리 모두 간의 상호 연결성을 부드럽게 제안합니다. 현재는 분열보다는 공통성에 기여할 수 있는 아주 좋은 시점입니다.” 라고 전합니다.
